Apple vs Xiaomi Is The True Battle That Few Know About
While many are trying to compare the Samsung Galaxy S smartphones to the Apple iPhone, Xiaomi is sneaking through the backdoor while nobody is watching.
The great thing which puts the Apple iPhone above any other smartphones, is the integration that it has with all the other apple products. You can be doing something on your iPhone and carry straight on with it on you iPad of you Macbook Pro. You have applications on your Apple devices such as Contacts, Calendar, Photos, iTunes, Numbers and many more, that you can add something or make changes on, and the added document or change will immediately show on all your other Apple devices. When your iPhone rings and you don’t answer it right away, your iPad and Macbook will start to ring as well and you can pick up the call through any of those devices.
I can hear the Samesung (Samsung) fans already saying: “Samsung has that too!”. But Samsung has done it’s mocked name proud (Samesung), but creating a tablet after Apple. The integration isn’t as good either, as only the apps on the ‘Samsung Store’ will automatically install on all Samsung devices. Also, Samsung doesn’t have the added device of a laptop, which integrated brilliantly in the case of Apple.
Xiaomi is a better copy of Apple than Samsung
As previously mentioned, Apple has a well integrated system which lets all their products work extremely well together. Much better than any other either competitors, seeing that Microsoft have given up on trying to do just that with the Windows smartphone.
That was until Xiaomi came along, snuck through the backdoor and now gives us almost everything that Apple offers us. Although Rohan has not tested all the Xiaomi products, there is much room for debate on this. Xiaomi’s smartphones are powered by Android, so the integration of all the products will have to be looked at an tested. However, if you compare the two brands:
Apple
• iMac (various models)
• Macbook (various models)
• iPad (various models)
• iPhone (various models)
• Apple TV
• Apple Watch
• Accessories (various)
Xiaomi
• Xiaomi Notebook Air
• Xiaomi Mi (various models)
• Xiaomi Mi TV (various models)
• Xiaomi VR
• Xiaomi Drone
• Xiaomi Air- and Water Purifier
• Accessories (various)
Looking at the lists, Apple has a bit more products like the iPad and the Apple Watch which Xiaomi does not currently have (although Xiaomi does have the Mi Band). However on the other side, Xiaomi does have a whole range of other products that Apple has either not thought of yet, or they do not intend to compete in those markets.
In terms of the data storage of their smartphones, Xiaomi is a lot more generous with data storage. For much more storage and comparing it with the price of the Apple iPhone, it would be a no-brainer to buy the Xiaomi. Although, the integration aspect is one to strongly consider before just abandoning ship.
Looking at the naming convention of the products, where Apple has everything ‘i’ related, like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, etc. Xiaomi has the ‘Mi’ products. Both companies play of the personalisation of their product in calling it either i-something or Mi-something.
So seeing all these factors between these two companies, the battle has most probably just begun…
