Create it, or be Replaced by it
This might sound like armageddon or the apocalypse but it’s not all doom and gloom. Technology has mimicked or replaced many jobs currently being done by humans.
With more than 6.5 million applications (apps) available there are certainly many jobs that have been made redundant by some of these apps. Many of the apps do the same (or similar) things, so there have not been that amount of jobs being replaced yet. Also, not all the apps are created to render a service to a company. So there is no need to pack you desk just yet…
According to Wall Street Journal apps are taking of websites as well. Although, that article was written in 2014, and since then, Javascript has made many things possible to bring back the popularity of websites. In many situations, companies do have both a website as well as a mobile app.
Even if companies only have a website, those to are mostly viewed on mobile devices, which makes it compulsory for businesses to have responsive websites in order to supply all the users. Bootstrap has greatly come to the rescue to web designers in order to have the functionality of a responsive website, without having to write all the code by hand to make a website responsive.
As you have realised, apps and technology together will team up in replacing many jobs in future. There are however many professions that will require highly skilled individuals to do the work, so these jobs will not likely be able to be replaced by technology. There is even a pen that you carry in your pocket, that measures your health stats. Should something out of the ordinary happen, the pen notifies your mobile phone, which then notifies your local GP. This will eliminate the annual check ups that order patients need to go for, as the pen will constantly check all vital signs. These pens are still a while from mass production, but it is very much being worked on, although as you can imagine, there are countless tests that need to be done to ensure the accuracy of these products.
A few jobs that are already being replaced by apps is the the start of this revolutions, as there are many jobs in future that will be replaced as technology progresses.
