The Significance Of Waking Up At 5am
Many times before, I have seen, or heard of, waking up at 5am is kind of a big deal. Why it this though? What’s the significance of waking up at 5am? There’s nothing special (or out of the ordinary) happening at 5am. There isn’t a place to go to which is exclusive to the ‘5am’ members which guarantees anything, so why do you need to make the effort to wake up so early?
There is a saying that goes: “5am. The hour that legends are either waking up, or going to bed.” So why do you need to be up when everyone is asleep? That is exactly the key! If you are awake when everyone is asleep, you have more hours in your day. You have time to plan your day, get more work done and at the end of the day, you have a more productive day.
Not all successful people wake up at 5am though. Some get up much earlier, and some get up a little later, but not by much. So, the key point is; we all get 24 hours in our day, how you use yours will be the determining factor of your success. Many successful people have stated what time they go to bed, and it ranges between 3:30am and 7:00am (although, those stated at 7:00am are at the office at that time). Now some of us like to get more sleep than others, but in actual fact, we as adult humans, need only 6 – 7 hours of sleep.
Gain 15 Days In A Year
A very scary / eyeopening fact is, if you were to take the amount of hours that you sleep each and every day in a year, and you just subtract one hour, you will gain 15 days in a year! You gain more than 2 weeks in which you can be more productive. If you get up an hour earlier than your current routine, at first you will feel refreshed and well. After five days, you will hit a wall and the 5 hours less of sleep will be very prominent. As any habit, it is usually hard to get into the rhythm. The benefits of getting into this new habit has many positive aspects though. Also, just as with any habit, if you try to get into the swing of doing something new and it is not something you enjoy, it is much harder to do. The same goes for getting up at 5am. Just like the video above said: “What is your ‘why’?” If you don’t enjoy your job, it will be very hard to motivate yourself to get up at 5am. However, if you love what you do (in many cases this occurs when you are able to work for yourself), your motivation for getting up is much better.
